Daniel Johnson / Writer

Writing is my passion. I’m inspired by writers like Billy Wilder (‘Some Like It Hot,’ ‘The Apartment,’) and Aaron Sorkin (‘The West Wing,’ ‘The Social Network,’) because they focus on characters, on relationships between people, and on razor-sharp dialogue. These things have become increasingly rare in cinema, but they’re what inspire me the most.

My screenplay ‘Side By Side’ was recently optioned by a production company, and ‘The Toilet Attendant’ is currently in the semi-final of the Bluecat Screenwriting Competition in Los Angeles.

My writing has also been produced by other directors. My short script ‘Tunnel Of Love’ was recently directed by Roy Petersen in New York. On the right hand side you can see a comedy sketch that I wrote, which he directed.
