Some Facts About My Showreel from Scratch Service

– I write absolutely everything. Nothing is ever taken from anywhere else. It’s all fresh – for you.

– I’m a one man crew. Nothing complicated. I bring lights, I record sound, I make it happen.

– I am the one person you’ll deal with through the writing, directing and editing process.

– Yes, it’s my job, but it’s also my passion. I am constantly striving to make my reels better.

– If I feel like we’re not right for each other, creatively, I won’t do your reel. Collaboration is personal and it’s not just about the money.

– I will make you tea and/or coffee. But then I will also expect you to do the same for me.

– The amount of showreel material I write equates to a feature film’s worth every few months — which means I really get the practice in, writing-wise.

– I am very comfortable working with actors. My love for movies has always been about what the actors/characters are doing rather than the camera. You’re going to get a very personal experience, directing-wise.

– I’ll tell you if what you’re doing is crap. When I see bad showreel material, the first thing I ask the actor is, ‘were you directed at all?’ Often the answer is no. You’ll have the opposite experience with me.

– You can tell me your secrets about wanting to get a new agent and I will do my best to make sure your demo reel can help make that happen.

– I’ll give you advice about what to do with your reel afterwards. I’m not saying I’m an expert, but I’ll be able to tell you has worked in the past for my clients and acting friends.

– I’ll give you confidence in what you’re doing. I know how lonely this road can be – but I believe it’s a journey that has many stages. Maybe you’re just starting out, maybe you’ve been going a while but you feel in a rut, maybe you always get work but now you want to show a different side of your acting ability. I’ll do my best to help you move to that next level – I believe a reel is a big part of that.

– I’ll do scenes on tripods so everything is steady.

– I’ll do handheld scenes to add a bit of vibrancy.

– I’ll write you funny stuff that makes you chuckle.

– I’ll create serious material that makes you think.

– You’ll get your completed reel within three weeks of the filming date.

– What else would you like to know?
